An EPIC Talk about our Colors
The Staff at EPIC recount how True Colors has helped them! (Our team has a lot of blue!)
“I am a Green-Blue. I would not have classified myself as a green at first, but after taking my assessment, green was without-a-doubt one of my most dominant colors with blue trailing behind by just one point. It makes plenty of sense now. I’ve always had a really hard time making decisions. As a child, my grandparents would take me to a dollar store and give me $3 to pick anything I wanted. I would spend a ridiculous amount of time with a pony in one hand and a slinky in the other. I would stand there struck by indecisiveness, and making a pros and cons list in my head about which toy would be better. What made this worse was the fact that my empathetic nature as a blue made me excessively worried about how my choice would affect those around. I had seen this part of myself as a flaw because choosing anything from an item to what to say to others would become overwhelming at times.
Now, I have realized that what I used to see as a flaw is one of my biggest strengths. My analytical and logical nature allows me to make sound decisions that myself and others can feel comfortable and confident with, especially within professional and important environments. My empathetic nature and need for harmony guides me to make choices that keep people at the forefront of my mind. For this, I also find that others value my judgment because I take the time to investigate and ensure that the right choice is being made. I feel good when I am valued for my knowledge and important when I can help solve problems.”

“I am a Blue-Gold. After Taking the True Colors Assessment, I discovered my brightest colors were Blue first and Gold second. I already indulge in other forms of personality assessments like the Myers-Briggs. True Colors was formatted to be a more general version of Myers-Briggs and I could see the correlation between them. True Colors has helped me the most in my professional environment. I have been better able to understand my co-workers and refined my business approach with them. I was very surprised to find out Blue was my primary color considering I like to think of myself as someone who isn’t very outwardly emotional. But I strongly identified with my Gold traits. I do my best as a team player and with precise direction. I love to work and be of service to others, I value respect and punctuality. I find it very fascinating how different combinations of Colors can help you better understand yourself and those around you.”

“My true color is blue. Throughout my life, I have had many who have seen my blue traits as negative. I have been called over-sensitive, naive, illogical, people-pleaser, and talkative, among other things. I've learned through the assessment that these are common misconceptions that blues often face. However, knowing that blue is my True Color helps me to reframe negative thinking about myself into seeing the strengths that come with my personality.
I am a person who deeply cares about other people and situations and I actively seek to understand before I speak. I am authentic and loyal, and I love to see the best in others. I am emotionally-driven, but this does not mean that I am impulsive about my decisions. Rather, it means that I take into account what myself and others feel and care about before taking the next step.
I am proud to be a blue and love to see how I interact with the world around me as a blue”

“I am a Blue. It’s funny, how much of me makes more sense. Knowing my color has allowed me to unveil multiple attributes of my personality. My dominant color happens to be blue, and this has been helpful in my home with my four children as well as in the workplace.
I know myself better now, and I can also identify the traits of the other colors within my own children and peers. This, in turn, allows me to understand those around me better, making communication clearer and allowing everyone to feel heard. This is so significant, because everyone plays a vital role both in your home and in the workplace. When you develop a strong understanding of those roles that different personalities hold, and their preferred communication style, then you will see that things begin running a lot smoother and the space around you becomes more positive. “
