How Affirmations Benefit our Mental Health

It’s so easy to go about our daily lives using negative self-talk, doubt, and anxiety to rule our emotions. Well, what if I told you positive affirmations could help break that cycle?

Affirmations can help reinforce positive thoughts about yourself. When repeated over and over, they begin to take charge of your thoughts, slowly changing your pattern of thinking.

There are so many different ways you could add affirmations into your life, but the simplest way is when you hear that voice of doubt, just flip it into something positive. Some people even try and come up with 3 positive affirmations for every negative thought they have. 

Often when you start affirmations, you may feel a little silly or end up not taking yourself seriously. But keep going, after days of repetition your affirmations become a part of your subconscious mind, helping your words and thoughts drift into harmony.

One plant was only spoken to positively and the other plant was spoken to negatively. A few days later, it was noticed that the plant which was spoken to positively was blooming and growing fast while the plant which was spoken negatively started withering and dying.

It’s important to find your soft spots and think about what YOU would want to hear. You can speak your affirmations in the morning and before bed, or you can say them all throughout your day if you feel the need. There are no real rules, just speak kindly to yourself, because we all deserve to feel safe and happy in our minds and in our lives.
